Crockford's Galway Gambles - Day One

Looking through the card for the first day of Galway week, Crockford believes that it will be another good start for Dermot Weld. The master of Rosewell could well have at least a treble across the card and has made an interesting booking in Ruby Walsh to start off his campaign to be Champion trainer again.

Crockford's Dead Cert - Train of Thought (4.00)
With Ruby Walsh booked and his first attempt over hurdles this interesting runner was also highlighted as one of Weld's top five for the week in the trainer's interview with the Racing Post. All things point to the fact that this will give Dermot Weld a winning start to the Festival.

Crockford's Whisper - Thunder Mountain (5.00)
Weld believes that his runner will come on from his first run and from being gelded. As he told the Racing Post "he should come up the hill and run a good race". Again being selected by the trainer as being one of his best hands of the week, the gelding should at least run the O'Brien's with Line Drummer close.

Crockford's Galway Gambles for the first day:

4.00 Train of Thought
4.30 Teach Nua (e/w) and Kalellshan (e/w)
5.00 Thunder Mountain (e/w)
5.35 Buy Back Bob (e/w) and Midnight Music (e/w)
6.10 Fionnuar
6.40 Encrypted Message
7.10 Silver Concorde
